We miss you grandma!

Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of Bobby's moms passing. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her and wish that she was still here to love on my children. Emma was only 6 months old when she passed and Emma was the apple of her Grandma's eye. We have pictures of Carol around our house and I always quiz her about who everyone is in the pictures so she knows who her Grandma is. Well yesterday Emma mentioned her Grandma 3 different times. She saw this glass bowl and she said "mommy is this glass". I said yes Emma, please do not touch that cause it can break. She said "yes mommy I know, I broke Grandma's glass". She has not broken any glass at our house so I thought she must have broken something at Grandpa's house. Bobby called his dad and she did not break anything there. Kinda weird. Later she picked up a banana and said "Grandma and Grandpa are on the phone, do you want to talk to them"? A little later, we were playing this game what is better than Emma-More Emma, what is better than Daddy-More daddy. She normally goes through all the people that she knows, Mommy, Daddy, Jack, Mimi, Pa, Uncle Greg, Aunt Danna, Grace, Laney, Davis, Aunt Laura, Baby Anna, Aunt Michelle, Baby Caroline, Penny, John, etc. So she said Who is better than Grandpa-More Grandpa. Then she said who is better than Grandma, More-Grandma. She normally does not talk about Grandma unless we bring it up.
More Craziness- Today we went to the park with some girls from my Bible study and their kids and my friend Jessie and her son Austin. Well I look over at Emma and is hugging this lady. The lady told me that Emma kept waiving at her and saying hello. I look over a few minutes more and she is handing the lady a toy airplane. She was totally infatuated with this lady. Well a few minutes later she walked over to me and told me that Emma was calling her Grandma! The lady looked VERY similar to Carol. She had the same blond hair and style as Carol and she was thin and her name was CAROLINE. How strange is that? Emma thought that this lady was her Grandma!!!!!!! I did not have the heart to tell her that that was not her Grandma.

Who stole my sweet son?

Jack fell asleep in the shopping cart today. Notice that he still has a strong grip on his car!

He had his feet propped up on the buggy.

Jack saying "CHEESE"

Emma and Jack love to play with the slide that Uncle Greg and Aunt Danna gave us!

Emma lounging in he old swing. She LOVED her swing. I guess she still does!

Who stole my sweet son and replaced him with this new one that is throwing tantrums and is fussy? Can you please give me my sweet son back?? In the past week, Jack has started his terrible 2's. He literally throws himself on the floor if he does not like something. He is very difficult to go to dinner now because he will not stay in his highchair. I have to hold him or if Grandpa is with us, then he can hold him, but we are the only two that he will go to. Grandpa came over last night and went to dinner with Bobby and the kids while I had a tennis match. When Grandpa got to our house, I could hear Jack screaming from the other room "Papa! Papa! Papa!" It is so cute. We are so blessed that our families are close by and love to spend time with our children.

Emma goes to the Bellsouth Classic

Emma and Daddy on their way to the Bellsouth Classic
My little man fell asleep just after I got him out of the bath and took a nap for 5 hours. Yes that is 5 hours!! He is getting in his upper molars so that must be it.

Emma loves to wash her hands (and I guess her legs)!

Her first nap in her big girl bed. She was looking at a book when she fell asleep! I did go in and remove it from her lap for the rest of her nap.
I made this dress for my friend Lisa's niece.

On Sunday Bobby took Emma to the Bellsouth Classic golf tournament. He said that she had the best time walking around. Her favorite part was riding the tram from the parking lot to the golf course. After golf, she went to lunch with Grandpa and was having so much fun, she asked to stay with him for the rest of the evening. While they were at the golf tournament, I took Jack to ToysRUs and got him a 3 pack of Tonka Trucks. He is obsessed with cars and trucks. After our outing, I had a tennis match and Jack went to Mimi's house.
A few months ago I bought Emma a Learning Leapfrog video called the Alphabet Factory. Well I forgot about it until 2 weeks ago. Well Emma loves it! It is great. She pretty much knew before the sounds that each letter makes, but this video has helped her even more know each sound. One of her favorite things to do it go to www.pbskids.org and play Word World on the computer.

We are the (Georgia) Champions!! Off to Mobile

This is a picture of our ALTA team from our St.Patrick's day match.
This is the towel that we got for being STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

Wow!! What a weekend!! My USTA tennis team went to State finals in Rome GA this past weekend. This weekend was one of the most exciting weekends of my entire life. Have you ever worked so hard and wanted something so bad? Well our team wanted it so bad and we have been playing tons and tons of tennis to be prepared for this weekend. We played ladies from Augusta, Columbus, Dalton, Macon, Woodstock, etc. I thought it was a little funny because we played a team that is 5 minutes from us in the semifinals and a team 15 minutes from us in the quarter finals. We did not lose a match the entire weekend. UNBELIEVABLE. Today we played our final match at 9:30 and it came down to our captain, Captain Gray (Crunch). She lost the first set and was up 4-3 in the second set when I started watching her. I had no doubt in my mind that if this whole thing was left on her shoulders that she was going to pull it off. Well She DID!!! We all stormed the courts and were in awe of what we accomplished. This entire weekend we had the support of family and friends that meant so much to all of us. We got tennis towels that say State Champions, 2 more bag tags, a picture frame and a packet full of information for our regional tournament starting July 18th.

The Great Escape!

Jack loves cars. As you see here he is eating his breakfast with his car in his hand.

So cute!! I just want to kiss him 1,000 times. :)

Daddy taught Emma who her favorite Braves players are. Of course they are Brian McCann and Chipper Jones!! She had her picture made last year with Brian at an autograph signing. Brian was very nice. I saw this T-shirt at the store and it is a Chipper Jones t-shirt so of course I had to get it for her. Emma loves her daddy so much!!

Emma on the swing that Pa and Grandpa built for their Christmas present. Thank you Pa and Grandpa!!!

Jack sitting in Emma's Elmo chair.

This morning we heard Jack stirring in his crib. I got up to go and get him, but before I got there, we heard a big THUMP! And then crying from Jack. YIKES!! That is a scary sound. Jack jumped out of his crib onto the hardwood floors. We remember this sound from about a year ago as Emma tried the Great Escape several times. Last year I was freaking out because Emma kept climbing out of her crib. I asked everyone I know what they did. My next door neighbor Kate told me that she just firmly told her son that he was not to climb out of his crib. I thought that was the craziest idea and would never work since Emma is a typical red head! Well to our surprise this worked!!! She is now 30 months old and has not done it since. Hopefully this same technique will work with our Jack.
Tennis Update:
Bobby and I went to playoffs for our T-2 match and won the first round, but lost the second. We were both having an off moment. What stinks is that we almost won and we were playing bad.
My ALTA team were division champs!! We won the first round of playoffs, but we are going to have to forfeit this weekend due to the fact that most people are on our USTA team and we are going to Rome this weekend for our State championship matches. On Friday we play two matches. One at 11am and the other at 3:30, Saturday we play at 8:00 and 12:30, then Sunday we play a match at 9:30 and if we are the winners then we play again at 2pm. That is TONS of tennis. I have never played that much tennis in such a short amount of time. It will be lots of fun though.
