Happy Valentine's Day!

I love my husband. He is so sweet. He came home with a dozen pink roses for me. He got pink because that is Emma's favorite color. She loves anything pink.

Emma admiring the roses. She helped me arrange them in the vase. I cut them and she put them in the vase.
I made Emma a tutu and a shirt with sparkles on the top to match.

She loves dressing up. She puts on one of her princess dresses or her ballet dress EVERY day!

Daddy holding Emma.

Emma showing daddy her new tutu and shirt.

Emma and Jack in the Valentine outfits that they wore to school on Thursday. I just love their school so much. They have so much fun.

Today we went to Aunt Susan's house and made and decorated cupcakes for daddy. Here is Emma sprinkling red sprinkles on her cupcake.

Jack is great with the sprinkles!

Jake decorating his cupcake.

Jake playing with his Diego Aquadoodle and car.

Jack playing with his train set.

Ben eating his cupcake. YUMMY!

Jack thinks that the icing is really yummy!

Jake thinks his cupcake is yummy too.

Oh so yummy! Thank you Aunt Susan!

Today we went to Susan's to make cupcakes for our husbands and family and for the kids to have a fun Valentines Day activity. Well Susan whipped up the first batch of cupcakes and I got them out of the oven and dropped them!! Well I only dropped the first 12 in the bottom of the oven. Thank goodness I brought over another cake mix. I whipped up the second batch while Susan was trying to get Ben down for a nap and then we let the kids decorate and eat one cupcake from the first batch that did not land on the bottom of the oven! What can I say? I am pregnant!

These days I have been feeling pretty good. I went to the Dr. on Monday and he said that as long as my blood pressure is good and I am measuring properly then they will not have to prick me anymore! Everything went well so no more pricks. My 1 hour glucose test was a slightly high so I had to go in for a 3 hour glucose test. I had to fast the night before and come in drink some sugary drink and then they took blood from my arm 4 times! I had to stay at the Dr. the entire time. How boring. Well at this appointment my Dr. apologized for making me do that test and told me that there eas no way I had gestational diabetes. So that was good news too. I am 30 weeks now and I have gained 14lbs so not too bad. With my 2 previous pregnancies I gained 23lbs so I should be around that this time. Since Joshua is laying right on my ribs, I have been having a hard time breathing if I do not sit just right. I have also been having pelvic pressure if I stand up for too long. I will be excited when Joshua gets here! Not too long now. Exactly 9 weeks from today!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Grandparents and Scary Injuries

Jack and Emma LOVE their sunglasses. Every time they get in the car they have to put it on. Even if it is cloudy outside. Jack fell asleep with them on and I had a Dr appt so I just left the glasses on and put him in the stroller and everyone thought it was the cutest thing.

If Emma cannot find her own sunglasses, she borrows a pair of mine. Isn't she so adorable? We have a set of sunglasses for each car.

This weekend Bobby and I went to my parents house for breakfast. They babysat overnight my brothers 3 children. Emma & Jack loves her cousins so much. So we headed to my parents house and my dad made pancakes for all of us. My how things have changed since we were kids. My dad really enjoys cooking and showing off his cooking skills. He is a good cook and we enjoy eating what he makes. After breakfast my dad and Bobby headed to our house to work on attaching the drain and garbage disposal to our new sink. I stayed with mom to help her out with the kids. My mom is such a AWESOME grandmother. Bobby and I are so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents for our children. We are so blessed! I just cannot stop thinking about Carol and how much she loved Emma. It makes me so sad that she is not here anymore to love on Emma, Jack and soon Joshua. Jim is such a wonderful grandfather but I still think there is a different love that only a grandmother can give. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of Carol and wish she was here. Besides our wedding, I think the day that Emma was born was one of the happiest days of her life. I miss her so much. I have so many friends that their parents (the grandparents) have little interactions with their children. It makes me so sad. Boy, they do not know what they are missing! It guess they do not want to deal with the work that children are. This weekend I saw how much work my mom does when the kids are at her house. She always gives them a bath, gives them snacks, cleans up after them, takes walks with them, let them make cookies or cakes, swings with them on their swing set, etc.... She did not sit down the entire time that I was there.
I feel so bad for my parents. It seems like the only time that Emma gets hurt she is at their house. About a month ago she was standing on a step stool at their house and she stepped on the very edge of it rather than the middle. Well, the stool flipped right over and she landed right on top of it! She had some good size bruises on her back and her legs. When I was there this weekend mom and I were in the kitchen and in runs Emma. Well she fell and she hit her head dead center of the corner of the cabinets. She had a 2 inch red line down the center of her forehead and it swelled up like an egg. We both went into panic mode and thought we were going to have to bring her to the ER. Once we got some ice on it and some sense I called the Children's Health Care Hotline and since it was a head injury they called me right back. They told me the things to look for and seemed like Emma was going to be just fine. It just scared Mom and myself sooooo much. My nephew did have a concussion a while back and my sister in law was able to tell me what were some signs to look for as well.
About 30mins later the kids were outside on the swingset and my niece Grace was climbing up a tree. My mom asked her to get down and she did. Then she climbed back up it with my other niece Laney. Then I saw out of the side of my eye Laney falling off the tree and into the pile of leaves that was under the tree. She started crying and I snatched her right up. I brought her inside and put an ice pack on her wrist. She was crying but seemed ok. So the next day Laney went to school and her teacher noticed that she had wrist pain and suggested to Danna that she get it x-rayed. So she took her to the Dr. and she fractured her wrist! She is getting a cast on it tomorrow. My poor mom was freaking out because of all the injuries. The last thing that either of us wanted was that the kids get hurt!!
